Round stock for log furniture is peeled then air dried naturally for 2 to 3 weeks to attain only a 6% moisture content. Flat stock is kiln dried for 1 to 2 weeks. Almost every surface and edge of this log furniture is sanded. Beveling also helps create smooth surfaces and splinter free edges. Coated yellow zinc hardware is used for strength.
